MATEJ MIHALJEVIĆ

Matej Mihaljević is a violinist, arranger and founder of “Major Strings”.

Matej recorded string arrangements on more than 200 published songs and collaborated with over 100 artists such as Melanie Martinez, Gawne, Željko Bebek, Damir Urban, Nina Badrić, Ana Bekuta, Crvena Jabuka, Indira, Oliver Dragojević, Rade Šerbedžija and many more .

He also recorded the music for the musicals, movies, and spoken word albums.

His violin sounds and string arrangements were performed at numerous festivals and big stages and were awarded numerous prizes.

Classical career

Matej Mihaljević is a solist violinist born in Zagreb.

Throughout his career, he has secured over 20 first prizes in competitions across more than six countries solo and in chamber music. Matej has performed solo twice with symphony orchestras, playing Ravel’s Tzigane at the Blagoje Berse Concert Hall and Sibelius’s Violin Concerto in D minor with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra at the big Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.

He has an extensive portfolio of classical music performances on television and in major venues countries. Additionally, he is a permanent member of three ensembles of whom he is founder of two of them including Major Strings. Matej has received four “Oscars of Knowledge” awards for his achievements in the field of violin and has also been honored with the Rector’s Awards.

As a young talent at the age of 16, he finished best in entrance exams and started his studying in Academy of music in Zagreb. He finished his master studies at Music academy in Zagreb in 2023 in a class of professor profesor Marco Graziani. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctoral studies under the guidance of the world renowned soloist and long-time professor at Juilliard, Stefan Milenković.
